Body Mechanics + Energy Awareness

 

Online Workshop: 9th, 16th July 2022

This 3 hour workshop combines two powerful practical methods to connect – with deeper awareness – to our physical body and vital energy body through dynamic, mindful joint movement, the breath, and energy. 

 

We will work with our whole body – opening and activating our joints, feeling full connectivity through proprioceptive movement, followed by conscious breathing and tuning to vital life-force/energy through qigong.

 

The combination of body mechanics and energy awareness strengthens and harmonises the physical body and its energies, bringing about greater mobility, energy, regeneration, and self-healing.

 

If you are looking to go deeper into your body in a physical and energetic sense this workshop is for you. Everything that you will learn can be easily practiced on your own.

Session 1: Joint proprioceptive awareness with Peggy Heinrich

Our joints need to be strong, stable and able to move freely. Through proprioceptive movements we will activate the functional fluid of our body in order to develop and build up a strong and intelligent range of motion.

 

The proprioceptive system is the sense of our body‘s position in space, guided by receptors which are inside the skin, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and joints. These receptors connect with the brain through the nerve system, transferring the power of the muscles and the structure of movements so that they react in high quality ways.

 

This training cultivates reactive power, impact energy, freedom of mobility, and active regeneration of the body.

 

In this session you will learn:

  • Joint proprioceptive movement

  • The sense of body’s space 

  • Improvement of neurofascial structures

  • Coordination 

  • Body awareness 

  • Balance, strength and mobility 

  • Alignment and regeneration

Session 2: Vital Energy awareness with Marissa Newell

(approx. 90 mins)

With our physical body open and receptive after the joint proprioceptive movements, we will explore conscious whole body pore breathing (vital breathing) and a series of seated qigong movements to awaken our feeling senses and energy body to vital life-force/energy.

 

We will then tune our fascia through the joints and nourish them with the breath and vital energy, continuing an investigation and healing of our physical and energy bodies.

 

This introductory session will help us to understand the role of our body and mind in relation to energy, and broaden our awareness of energy in our practices, in ourselves, and in our environment. 

 

In this session you will learn:

  • Vital life-force/energy awareness

  • Feeling senses

  • Body mechanics

  • Role of the mind

  • Self healing and empowerment

Requirements: 

  • Quiet and clear space for standing and seated practice

  • Chair that allows for sitting in an upright position

  • Notebook and pen

  • Openness and willingness to learn

Peggy Heinrich had her first Taiji and Qigong experience under the guidance of Dipita Schäfer in 2008. Since that day, practice is giving her energy, strengthening her physical abilities and giving her the balance she needs in life. Her love for Taiji has become her inspiration where she’s sharpening and deepening her knowledge in healing arts, movement arts and martial arts. Peggy teaches Taiji and Qigong at Berlin Kali School.

Marissa Newell began her journey in Qigong and Tai Chi Chuan in 2007. She studied Practical Wudang Tai Chi Chuan, before delving deeper into her practice through ongoing study of Internal Alchemy and Qigong. Marissa currently resides and teaches in Thailand.
